Newark & Sherwood District Council are pleased to announce the launch of our 2026/2027 Community Grant Scheme, which is now open for applications.
This scheme provides community groups, charities, and eligible Parish Councils across the district with the opportunity to apply for up to £20,000 to support projects and initiatives that will improve the lives of local residents.
To be considered, applicants must demonstrate that their project will take place within the district, outline the local need it addresses, and explain how it contributes to one or more of the District Council’s Community Plan Ambitions. Applicants are also required to provide supporting financial information.
We would be grateful if you could share this opportunity with any groups or organisations you know of who may benefit from applying.
Additional weighting will be given to applications for projects that can demonstrate they:
- Contribute to addressing the cost-of-living crisis
- Support public protection by reducing crime or antisocial behaviour
- Improve biodiversity or help mitigate climate change
- Include match funding (for bids above £5,000)
Further information on eligibility and the application process is available on the District Council’s website: www.newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk/communityfunding/ .
The deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday 15 May.
