Bus Services Review
The Parish Council has been contacted by Nottinghamshire County Council with regard to a review of bus services in the area. In accordance with the government’s recently published National Bus Strategy. All English local transport authorities are required to work with bus operations to develop bold plans improve local services and increase passenger numbers. The government has pledged £3 billion in funding across England to help deliver the plans and the County Council wishes to obtain a share of that funding and wants to find out what people feel would improve bus services and what would make people make more journeys by bus. The council would like input from people who already use buses and from people who do not.
Since the old Pathfinder service was subsumed into Nottingham City Transport, the service for Lowdham has deteriorated. In particular, the Nottingham-Southwell services no longer pass through the village which means that some people face a long walk to use the service. Please use the link below to complete the survey and give your views on how the existing services could be improved.
