Lowdham Parish Council – List of Councillors and Staff

Councillor Positions: 11

Cllr Derek Brickell (Vice Chair)

I have lived in Lowdham since April 2021, although for most of my life I have lived in Nottingham or the surrounding area, only moving away for work reasons. I am married with two children, now both adults.  I have worked almost my entire career in the air transport industry and been a director of some major transport companies including East Midlands Airport.  Towards the end of my career, I moved into teaching degree level students on air transport or pilot studies degrees.  I am educated to master’s degree level.   I am now retired, although I occasionally guest lecture or give talks to schools, universities or societies onaviation. I also volunteer at a local school and I am a member of Lowdham Bowls Club and Lowdham History Society. Outside of this, I am a Nottingham Forest season ticket holderand I have a keen interest in travel, politics and humanism.

Cllr Alison Glazebrook

Cllr Paul Harrison (Chair)

I have lived in and around the Nottingham area since 1977 and moved to Lowdham over 20 years ago.  This will be my second stint as a parish councillor (having served previously in 2004-7).  I am married and fast approaching retirement.  My background is in finance where I have held a number of senior positions and I hope that some of my knowledge can help manage the council’s budgeting and financial performance.

Cllr Caroline Kew

Cllr Stephen Platt

Cllr Mike Poyzer

Having lived most of my life in various parts of Nottingham city it has been a joy to join the residents of Lowdham for the last 10 years. I only regret not moving here sooner.
I was the founder member of Nottingham Organic Gardeners 28 years ago and so a keen gardener & promoter of environmental issues.

Cllr Alan Reed

I have lived in Lowdham since 1991, having been raised in Wiltshire and moving to Nottingham in 1978.
I am married with 3 adult children and I have spent most of my working life in the car retail industry, mainly managing dealerships in the luxury end of the market.

I have been retired for over 10 years and my main interests are in environmental issues and humanitarian concerns with memberships of Greenpeace, Notts Wildlife Trust, Amnesty International etc..

I hope that my interest in the effects of climate change will prove useful as a parish councillor.
